Week 2: The First Article — Behind the Byline: The Realities of Journalism Students
This week, i dove onto my first article- behind the byline: the realities of journalism students. A raw and reflective feature piece that truly explores what it means to study journalism in today's world. A piece that aims to shine a light on student perspectives and exploring their different journeys. I went on to interview two pupils, one of which is a recent graduate from another college institution. I wanted this piece to represent the students, and for it to set the tone for the entire magazine. As a fellow journalism student i also incorporated personal views and knowledge to put this piece together, along with some research.
It did not only incorporate student views but it also delved on how the field of journalism is portrayed on popular media. Overall, the piece became bigger than expected but hopefully it followed all necessary ethical guidelines of writing a news story as it was my first time publishing a real article.
